Biography

Hina Oikawa

Alto saxophone player and composer, Hina Oikawa was born in Saitama, Japan in 1998. She started playing the saxophone at age 12. She started performing at jazz venues in Tokyo when she was a high school student. She is not only a whole tuition scholarship student at Shobi university but has also performed at many jazz venues throughout Japan. She received “The Most Improved Student Award” at SEIKO Summer Jazz Camp 2018. She was selected as a member of the “JFC All-Star Big Band” directed by a GRAMMY nominee pianist Makoto Ozone and she performed with the band at Tokyo Jazz Festival in 2017 and 2018.
